Community
Volunteers for Greenfields Community Group (GCG) work tirelessly 'to provide a community space and facilities in the park that will support the health and wellbeing of local people for generations to come'. This determined community raised significant funds to challenge the planning permission that was given for housing on the parkland. The challenge was successful and the community continue their work to upgrade the park grounds and install additional facilities to the highly valued public open space.
Safeguarding
We have six principles regarding safeguarding within our community group.
-
Empowerment: People being supported and encouraged to make their own decisions, enabling informed consent
-
Prevention: We follow the principle that it is better to take action before harm occurs.
-
Proportionality: We select the least intrusive response appropriate to the risk presented.
-
Protection: Through the committee we work to support and represent those in greatest need.
-
Partnership: Our local solutions are delivered through the services we provide by working closely with our local communities. We liaise with agencies and play our part in preventing, detecting and reporting signs of neglect and abuse.
-
Accountability: We are transparent and open in all our activities
